Jori’s yoga journey

Fifteen years ago, I knew almost nothing about yoga when a friend invited me to a class at a Jivamukti yoga studio in Munich. I went in with no expectations, and before long, I had lost count of how many times I dropped into child’s pose just to catch my breath. I fumbled through the lefts and rights, hands and feet, all while trying to remember to breathe.

Yet, from the very first class, I was captivated by the way asana intertwined with philosophy, meditation, storytelling, and mantra. I didn’t know the terms back then, but that unique blend sparked my curiosity and made me want to explore more. And so, my yoga journey began.

Like any meaningful journey, mine has been one of continuous discovery—marked by moments of balance and imbalance, stillness and movement, clarity and uncertainty. Yoga has become my anchor, drawing me back to the mat, even if just for a few minutes each day. It reconnects me with the simplicity of breath, the awareness of body, and the practice of moving through life with kindness, compassion, and resilience.

Some days, the practice brings clarity; on others, it raises questions. But in both the certainty and the unknown, I find growth. Yoga has taught me to embrace each moment for what it is, knowing that both ease and challenge are part of the path.

I’m deeply grateful for the lessons I carry from the mat into my everyday life. These lessons shape not just my role as a teacher but also as a daughter, mother, wife, friend, and human being. Yoga reminds me to live with presence and to approach life’s challenges with a heart full of curiosity and compassion.

To my family, friends, students, and the teachers who have generously shared their wisdom with me—thank you. Your support and guidance continue to shape my practice and my journey.

Yoga, to me, is a gift that keeps unfolding—an inward journey that reveals new insights each day. I invite you to join on this path of self-discovery and growth.

”Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame.” — B.K.S. Iyengar

About Mausmi

Teaching Focus

My name is Mausmi, and I come from the birthplace of yoga—India. Now based in Sydney, I balance a full-time career with being a mother of two and a devoted wife. I earned my diploma in yoga teacher training in 2021 from the Yoga and Meditation School of India, located in Melbourne. I am deeply passionate about making a meaningful impact in communities by enhancing the overall well-being of children through yoga and meditation. In today’s world, where digital distractions are pervasive, I believe yoga is more essential than ever for helping kids reconnect with themselves, fostering mindfulness, balance, and inner peace.

Mausmi’s Yoga Journey

Growing up in India, yoga was an integral part of my daily life, deeply rooted in our family’s routine. I have cherished memories of waking up early in the morning to see my grandparents and my parents practicing yoga with dedication and grace. This daily ritual was embraced by everyone in the family, creating an atmosphere where yoga was more than just a practice—it was a way of life.

As a child, I naturally adopted these practices, making yoga a part of my everyday routine. It was also a significant aspect of my school and college days, where regular yoga sessions helped build a strong foundation of mindfulness, discipline, and overall well-being.

After my wedding, I was delighted to find that my in-laws also valued and practiced yoga as part of their daily lives. This continuity reinforced the importance of yoga in my life, and it continued to support me through different phases, particularly during my pregnancies. Yoga provided me with the physical strength and emotional calm needed to navigate the challenges of pregnancy, helping me stay connected to both my body and mind.

Today, as a mother, it’s incredibly fulfilling to see my own children embracing yoga. Watching them practice yoga, just as I did at their age, brings my journey full circle. It strengthens my belief in the enduring power of yoga to nurture well-being across generations, and I am committed to passing on this legacy of mindfulness, balance, and inner peace to them and the wider community.

Combining a flow style practice Chelsea integrates stretch and strengthening sequences to focus on the whole body. Integrating mindfulness into each class to allow you to reconnect with your inner self and leave with a deeper awareness and connection.

Chelsea’s Yoga Journey

Chelsea’s first memory of yoga is as a child watching her mother teaching a class and not really understanding what they were all doing. She discovered her own yoga practice more than two decades ago, and has since found it always brings her back to a place of inner peace and calm. Coming from an active background, Chelsea relished the connection yoga brings between the body, mind and soul.

Chelsea continued her practice as she transitioned from the corporate world, to the challenges of life as a busy working mum of two, and finally decided to follow her passion and begin her yoga journey.

Chelsea completed level 1, 350 hours of teachers training with Life Source Yoga in 2014, and has since embraced every opportunity to encourage students to reconnect with the body and develop their own practice.

Now, as a mother, Chelsea has seen the calming influence of introducing elements of her practice into the lives of her own children, and in keeping with her belief that yoga is for all, undertook training in kids and family yoga through Rainbow Yoga Training in 2015.

Chelsea teaches a Hatha Flow style class that is open to all levels.
